What is psychological safety in the workplace, and why does it matter?

People with disabilities report significantly lower levels of psychological safety at work than their non-disabled coworkers. That means they’re more likely to fear negative consequences for simply sharing their ideas, concerns, or values.

This half-day, interactive workshop explores why that matters—and how to change it.

You’ll leave the Master Class with:

  • A clear understanding of what psychological safety is, why it matters to business performance, and how it shows up (or doesn’t) in day-to-day workplace culture

  • Insight into early warning signs and risks when psychological safety is lacking—especially for employees with disabilities

  • Practical strategies to help increase psychological safety on your team, improve culture, and support the recruitment, retention, and advancement of people with disabilities

We’ll also engage in a reflective, experiential Talking Circle, guided discussion, and an independent gratitude activity—leaving attendees with both actionable next steps and a meaningful, memorable experience.

Learning Objectives

Attendees will:

  • Understand what psychological safety is and what it is in reference to the workplace
  • Learn why psychological safety in employment is critical for businesses and organizational culture
  • Know how to recognize warning signs of low psychological safety at work and what actions can be taken to improve it
