Laurel Buck joined the Center for Disability Inclusion (CDI) in 2025 as a Partner Support Consultant (PSC). In this role, Laurel works in close collaboration with the CDI team to support partner relationships and the delivery of CDI programming and training services. Her work helps ensure business partners are equipped with the tools, guidance, and coordination needed to advance disability inclusion in practical, sustainable ways.

In addition to her work with CDI, Laurel currently serves as the Statewide Employment Advocacy Leader with the Autism Alliance of Michigan. In this role, she leads a statewide employment coalition focused on improving employment outcomes for people with disabilities, with the goal of positioning Michigan as a leading state for disability inclusion. This experience strengthens her ability to support employers navigating regional workforce challenges and inclusive employment strategies.

Laurel’s professional background spans workforce development and human resources. She spent the majority of her career as a workforce development leader with Goodwill of Greater Grand Rapids, where she supported individuals and employers in building pathways to employment. She later transitioned into human resources to pursue a passion for talent acquisition and professional development, further deepening her understanding of employer needs.

She holds the SHRM–Certified Professional (SHRM-CP) credential and is currently pursuing a disability recruitment certification to further strengthen advocacy and access within inclusive hiring practices. Laurel earned a Master’s degree in Public Administration from Grand Valley State University.

Laurel is actively engaged in community leadership and collaboration. She serves on the Kent County Essential Needs Task Force, focusing on community engagement, and is the Workforce Readiness Board Chair for the Association of Human Resources in Grand Rapids. Her work is grounded in building relationships that lead to collaboration and collective impact.

At CDI, Laurel brings this passion and experience to her partner support role, helping organizations create inclusive employment opportunities where individuals of all ability levels can contribute, grow, and succeed.
